Are Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik dating? The hot new couple no-one could’ve predicted for 2023

Yes, you heard that right. Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik are reportedly dating! The pair were reportedly seen ‘kissing’ during a dinner date in a New York City restaurant. An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight: “Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurant goers didn't notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date.”

TikTok user Klarissa Garcia shared a video that appears to confirm the claims. In the viral clip she shares a text exchange between her and her friend who is a restaurant hostess at the restaurant the signers were seen at. The friend wrote: “Tell me why Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.” 

In recent weeks the pair sparked rumours that a music collaboration may be in the works after they started following each other on Instagram (Zayn only follows 18 people on Instagram, including Selena). However, it appears there could be a blossoming romance on the horizon for these two popstars. Selena is currently filming the third season of 'Only the Murders' in New York City and Zayn reportedly owns an apartment in the Soho area of the city.

It may come as a complete shock for some of us that these two even know each other let a lone be a ‘couple’, we need to go back a few years to explain. 

Selena and Justin Bieber were in an on/off relationship for eight years but during a break in their relationship in 2016 the two got into a spat on Instagram. During the argument Selena implies that Justin cheated on her ‘multiple times’. According to fan screenshots shared by Harper’s Bazaar Justin replied “I cheated.. oh I forgot about You and Zayn?” No further comments have been made since.

Former One Direction singer Zayn at the time was dating model Gigi Hadid, the couple were together for five years and share a two year old daughter Khai. The pair split after an alleged dispute between Zayn and mother in-law Yolanda Hadid. Since the ‘Zelena’ dating rumours came out a source told US Weekly “Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating.” 

After Selena had to defend Hailey Bieber in an Instagram post over the weekend shutting down the hate due to all the drama. And reports of her being in a 'throuple' with bestie Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham, it’s about time the Wolves singer has some happiness of her own.
