Preserves are probably not widely used as methods to discover cheating, but for singing legend Shakira it proved fruitful.

This was the first indicator for Shakira that someone had been in her home while she was away.

Mum-of-two Shakira herself has alluded to the alleged adultery in her music, and more recently in her video for ‘Te Felicito’.

In the video, Shakira opens a refrigerator and finds the head of the song’s collaborator, Rauw Alejandro, with fans deducing that she found the “truth in the fridge”.

The woman behind the jam usage in the home of another woman? Clara Chia Marti, the 23-year-old student and colleague of Gerard Piqué. Shakira and Gerard ended their relationship in May last year after 12 years together, and Shakira was reportedly planning a move this month with the couple's two children to Miami away from her ex-partner.

However, due to Shakira's 91-year-old dad being hospitalised in Barcelona, the move is understood to have been paused.

One thing's for sure, people need to leave Shakira's jam alone. There's a special place in hell for whomever allows a woman's jam to be stolen or who does the stealing themselves.
