Swifties rejoice as Taylor Swift releases more music including a remix of her smash hit ‘Karma’ with Ice Spice. The Mastermind herself dropped the deluxe version of her 10th album “Midnights”, titled “Midnights: The Late Night Edition” and new digital playlist “Midnights: Till Dawn” on Friday (May 26).

The announcement comes hot off the heels of her confirming that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) would be released on July 9, proving once again that she does not sleep.

The new release means that fans can finally listen to “Hits Different” digitally, a song previously only available on the Target version of “Midnights” as well as an updated version of ‘Snow on the Beach’ featuring more Lana Del Rey (much to the delight of fans). But that’s not all…It also features her first collaboration with rapper Ice Spice.

In true Swift form, it seems the collaboration had been in the works for a while. In March 2023, the pair were spotted taking selfies together at the iHeartRadio Music awards, and Swift was later spotted hugging the rapper on stage.

Swift shared her love for the “In Ha Mood” artist during her announcement and wrote on her social media. “I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch. So delighted to say that ‘Karma’ Featuring the incredible Ice Spice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new ‘Midnights (Til Dawn Edition)’ deluxe album that you can pre-order now! In addition to ‘Karma Ft Ice Spice’…”

The feeling is mutual as Ice Spice replied to Swift’s announcement with the quote tweet: “Sweetest person ever thank u sm”. Following the release of the song, Taylor Swift revealed that Ice Spice reached out through her team for their collab. The Anti-Hero singer said: “Hey, you know Ice has been a big fan of Taylor since she was a little kid. We’d love to collaborate if that was ever something that came about”. And the rest is herstory.

The new formed collaboration comes amid rumours that Taylor Swift is dating The 1975's frontman Matty Healy, of which neither side has publicly commented on. However, the couple have been seen together on multiple occasions in recent months.

Matty Healy caused controversy as a guest on “The Adam Friedland Show” in February, Healy laughed as the two podcast hosts, Friedland and Nick Mullen, made fun of Ice Spice using derogatory terms about her body and ethnicity, calling her an “Inuit Spice Girl,” and “chubby Chinese lady,” and used contrived Chinese and Hawaiian accents to mimic her.

The episode has been removed from Spotify and Apple, but during which Matty mentioned he dried to message Ice Spice on Instagram and was asked by the hosts, who are known for their racially insensitive jokes, if she sounds the way they mimicked her, he told them, “Yeah, that’s what Ice Spice is like” and then called her “dumb.”

Healy later apologised while performing in Auckland, New Zealand when he said: “I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you,” he said. “Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that my joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d---. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry.”
