I know Swifties can barely contain themselves at the moment after Taylor Swift announced that she will play nine shows in the UK, with concerts in London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Cardiff next year. She is also set to play two dates in Dublin at the Aviva Stadium too. However, there might be even more excitement if there is a Taylor Swift pop up store where they can purchase her merchandise too.

Taylor Swift and pop up stores are of course nothing new. In 2019, ‘The Lover Experience’ pop up shop was by Chelsea Market in New York. AM New York wrote at the time “The ‘You Need To Calm Down’ singer opened a pop-up shop in New York City to celebrate the release of ‘Lover’ and fans lined up in the rain to get a glimpse of her new merch.”

In 2017, Swifties in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, USA, were treated to a week-long ‘Reputation’ pop-up. As well as having the opportunity to purchase merchandise, visitors were given the opportunity to look at her performance costumes. When Taylor Swift appeared at her New York-pop up she reportedly took photographs with every fan who was there.

It will be interesting to see if Taylor Swift plans a similar pop up experience in London when she performs at Wembley from 21-22 June and 16-17 August 2024. When Beyoncé recently performed at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London, British fashion retailer Flannels created a pop up store on London’s Oxford Street in celebration of her Renaissance World tour.

When Flannels announced news of the  pop up store on their Instagram, they wrote: “In celebration of the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR- the acclaimed entertainment experience from global icon,  Beyoncé-FLANNELS X is transformed into a never-before seen exhibition and retail concept celebrating a unique cultural moment in entertainment.”

Watch this space if Flannels teams up with Taylor Swift next year. If they do and it is held on London’s Oxford Street again, I suggest Swifties start queuing now, especially if Miss Taylor Swift decides to make an appearance!
