Taylor Swift wows at Grammy Awards 2023 in Midnight blue with easter eggs for Speak Now (Taylor's Version)

Taylor Swift took home the 2023 Grammy for Best Music Video for “All Too Well: The Short Film” last night. Swift was nominated for four more golden gramophones at the event including Song Of The Year, Best Country Song and Best Music Video.

And while Swifties celebrated Taylor’s nominations and iconic win, they of course had their eyes peeled for all the hidden messages the ‘Anti-hero’ singer may have left for fans about upcoming projects (cough - Speak Now - cough).

Swifties are well used to using their eagle eyes to spot any hidden messages Taylor Swift leaves in her songs, music videos and in recent years has gone even further by using her fashion, make-up and overall style to leave hints. With every album, Taylor Swift has changed her look completely, and thus creating an ‘era’ rather than just dropping some new songs.

To the average viewer, Taylor slayed the red carpet in a midnight blue bedazzled two-piece long sleeve gown. Paired with massive shimmering earrings, a bold red lip and her brown hair pulled back in a bun. The look she served up classic Swift glamour.

However, the midnight clue colour of her sparkling co-ord is a direct link to her latest, and record breaking album, ‘Midnights’. The sparkles throughout it go perfectly with the aesthetic of the whole album and its visuals which heavily feature glitter not to mention the lyrics often reflecting that.

That’s a pretty obvious one for fans across, however, upon closer examination it seems Taylor Swift is doubling down on suggesting that Speak Now Taylor’s Version is very much around the corner. Swift has famously been rereleasing her old albums after losing the rights to her music to Scooter Braun, who famously purchased it from her old label Big Machine Records. In 2021, she released Fearless (Taylors Version) and Red (Taylors Version).

To accessorise her outfit, Swift donned some dazzling earrings with purple jewels throughout a colour which is very much associated with the album Speak Now with purple being the central theme of the album’s visuals, as well as the colour of one of the dresses she wore while touring the album.

Looking closer, past the outfit and the jewellery Swift chose, fans were quick to catch her make-up choice for the outfit. Swift is known for wearing her classic cat eyeliner and red lip. She rocked the classic look on Grammy red carpet, but the cat eye has a deeper meaning now due to her lyric ‘draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man’ which opens the song ‘Vigilant S**t’ from her newest album.

The song is rumoured to be about Scooter Braun, and could be another easter egg for Speak Now (Taylors Version) but is also a great nod to the fantastic song, and could suggest that maybe that is the next music video from her latest album on the way.

Her hair and make-up was styled and curled in a very similar fashion to the way she wore it throughout the entirety of her Speak Now tour, and most of that era. This left fans thinking that Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was going to be announced that night, but we’re still waiting.

However, soon after that appearance the music video for Bejeweled which was packed with easter eggs and basically confirmed that Speak Now was the next recorded album on the way - so maybe the Swifties were on to something.

Best believe she’s still bejewelled, Taylor Swift shut down the red carpet at the Video Music Awards in 2022. The powerful moment is a sharp contrast to THAT Kanye moment in 2009.

The diamond outfit gave the illusion that Swift was dripping in jewels. This gave fans a nod to what was on the way, as that night she announced that her brand new album of original music ‘Midnights’ would be coming out during her acceptance speech for ‘Video of The Year’.
