With a number of endorsements and collaborations under her belt with the FENTY brand, it comes as no surprise that Rihanna is currently the richest woman working in music. But in an added twist to celebrate International Women’s Day 2023, it turns out that Rihanna isn’t just content with topping the women’s list.
As it turns out, Rihanna is the richest musician in the world 2023, period. She beat out her nearest rival of the opposite sex by a cool $1 million USD - which also happens to be somewhat of a business mentor to the Barbadian singer, Jay-Z. The pair were head and shoulders above the nearest other musician in the list, English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, with a net worth of $1.3 billion USD.

Hide AdThough there is still a gender imbalance looking at the top ten musicians regardless of gender, Madonna still managed to creep into the top ten, sitting eighth overall but still the second richest female musician in 2023; with her impending tour later in the year set to make her even more, the strength of owning her back catalogue no doubt helped elevate her estimated amount to £709 million.
Dolly Parton also managed to scrape into the top ten list across both male, female and non-binary performers with an estimated worth of £542 million, showing that her numerous acts of philanthropy have done nothing to dent her bank account, while Beyonce only just missed out in the cross-gender list - her impending world tour will no doubt elevate that number in 2024, we believe.
Surprisingly, Taylor Swift was towards the bottom of the female list, with an estimated worth of £375 million, sharing the same amount as former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and US singer and performer Barbra Streisand. Given however the length of time the pair have had in the music industry, it’s been no mean feat for Swift, still with many years ahead of her, to have made as much money as an institution such as Streisand.
