It’s set to be a busy album cycle for Travis Scott, as fans of the rapper eagerly await not only the release of his new album, “Utopia,” but also look set to watch him perform his album release show at the Pyramids of Giza, as PeopleWorld reported earlier this month.

But that’s not quite all we are getting from the “Astroworld” performer, as his long-awaited feature film “Circus Maximus” is set to be released in theatres across the United States tomorrow (July 27 2023), specifically timed in conjunction with the release of his new effort.

Said to be a visual representation of the album, much like Beyoncé's "Lemonade," where music videos are interwoven with a loose narrative, Scott embarked on filming in locations in Denmark, France, Iceland, Nigeria and Italy, bringing together a group of “visionary filmmakers” alongside Scott himself in creating the piece.

“Circus Maximus” has been described as “a surreal and psychedelic journey, taking the audience on a mind-bending visual odyssey across the globe. The film explores the human experience and the power of soundscapes, all connected by the speaker rattling sounds from Travis Scott's album.”

The project already faced some pre-release woes; while the initial poster for “Circus Maximus” stated that the film was "produced by A24," IndieWire reported that A24 is not actually involved. Both the film and the album were also held up after the 2021 Astroworld Music Festival crush, where ten people died.

Scott faced investigations and litigation following the incident, but a grand jury recently decided that he will not face criminal charges, though he still faces several civil claims accusing him of negligence.
