Are Emmerdale and Coronation Street on TV tonight, is EastEnders set to be aired?
Another soap schedule shake-up is taking place this week.
Last month, soap fans were not happy as Coronation Street and Emmerdale were removed from the TV schedule due to sports coverage on ITV1. Those who tuned in to watch the soaps on Friday March 27 were left disappointed as they were not in their usual time slots due to ITV’s coverage of England vs Uruguay.
Coronation Street and Emmerdale were also pulled from the TV schedule on February 5 due to the opening match of the Six Nations Championships 2026. Two days before, Corrie and Emmerdale fans were also disappointed as Tuesday night’s ‘soap power hour’ was removed from the schedule to make way for live coverage of the ELF Cup semi-final second-leg clash between Arsenal and Chelsea.
On Tuesday April 14, Coronation Street and Emmerdale will not be shown at their normal times due to coverage of the Women’s European Qualifier match between England’s Lionesses and Spain.
When will Coronation Street and Emmerdale be back on our screens?
Coronation Street and Emmerdale will be back on TV screens on Wednesday night.

Coronation Street shared changes to their TV schedule on their Instagram and wrote: “Here is your soap schedule for this week! 🍿.”
One fan wrote:” It’s getting on my nerves. I much preferred the hour long episodes. Not sure which bright spark decided to change it but it needs sorting out and pronto!!
Why do we have to miss out because of sport too? Cut the pre match chatting and there would be time for both. Consider all your customers not just the minority.”
Another said: “Why can’t football be on a different channel? It’s bonkers that everything stops for the sodding football!!” One other person wrote: “unless they start bringing a bit of fun back in the soaps they should stop them all, all depressing and the only person thats funny is ross from emmerdale, even steve mcdonald and david platt have stopped being funny. understand they have to do real issues too but come on, we all need to switch off from real life and escape at some point.”
