The stars were out in full force as they attended the BAFTA TV Awards 2023. The 69th British Academy Television Awards ceremony was presented by comic duo Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

Oh we love a red carpet and everyone from Hollywood icons to reality TV stars all dressed up for the event but not everyone hit the mark.

Sorry Billie Piper but I just wasn’t a fan of the off the shoulder, cobalt blue sequin bodysuit with matching gloves and shoe covering. The colour was good but all the sequins were too much for Spring and should stay in the cupboard till Christmas. The eye-makeup was stunning but paired with the bizarre half-up half-down hairstyle didn’t work.

Best actress winner Kate Winslet may have been too busy celebrating to have thought twice about her choice of shoes. The ‘I Am Ruth’ actress wore a very nice LBD midi dress but I couldn’t take my eyes off the random purple satin shoes. I’m all for a pop of colour with a simple dress but these low-heeled shoes just didn’t pop.

TV presenter Emma Willis wore a red bodycon halter-neck gown (tick) with ruffle hem (tick) and matching heels (tick) but the front looked like someone had put a staple gun to it. The silver pin detail down the front to look as though it was being held together with staples but it just ruined the otherwise stunning dress. And it kills me to say it as I usually love dresses by Alexander McQueen.

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly and former professional dancer Oti Mabuse jumped on the 'Mermaidcore' trend. Tess wore a golden iridescent silk dress and pleated design; by Temperley London. The ‘floor length’ dress was about an inch too short and would've looked better slightly longer. Whilst dancer Oti also wore a metallic gold dress with shell detail neckline by Zandra Rhodes a little too much mermaid for me.

It was a disappointing night for fashion as the list for worst dressed goes on Georgia Toffolo vintage red satin dress would’ve looked better without the cream lace bodice. Frankie Bridge’s peach-orange hair looked cute but her black backless dress wasn’t the right fit.

It wasn’t all bad though Vick Hope looked stunning in an art deco style olive green beaded dress with cut out front detail by Cucculelli Shaheen. The radio host paired her floor-length dress with minimal accessories but did show-off her her engagement ring from DJ Calvin Harris. The A-List stars may want to take a leaf out of Vicks style book for their next event.
