Celebrity MasterChef judge Grace Dent reduced to tears during filming, date show returns and star contestants
Celebrity MasterChef judge Grace Dent has revealed a star made her cry during filming.
Three weeks ago, Celebrity MasterChef judge Grace Dent took to her Instagram and wrote: “🚨 CELEBRITY MASTERCHEF IS COMING! 🚨
“What a ride. We’ve just announced the fifteen famous faces taking on the @MasterChefUK kitchen in the brand new series of #CelebrityMasterChef. I can’t wait for you all to see it. Coming soon to BBC One and #iPlayer 🤩.”
In response, Lisa Snowdon wrote: “🔥🔥🔥🔥,” whilst another fan said: “What a pose!! What colour! 🔥 congrats & good luck with new season x.”
The celebrity contestants taking part this year include Alfie Boe OBE; rugby legend Alun Wyn Jones OBE; pop star and actor Antony Costa; TV star Ashley Cain; TV personality Chris Hughes; author and broadcaster Dawn O’Porter; Paralympian and actor Gaz Choudhry MBE.
Other stars participating include drag artist Ginger Johnson; soul legend Jaki Graham; actor Jamie Lomas; Gladiator Jodie Ounsley; actor Katie McGlynn; pop star Michelle Heaton; comedian Noreen Khan and TV personality Uma Jammeh.
On September 8, MasterChef UK took to Instagram and wrote: “Absolutely thrilled to confirm that the judges for next year’s series of #MasterChefUK will be @haughser and @gracedent! 🎉
“Welcome back to the MasterChef kitchen to both of you! ❤❤.”
In response, one fan wrote: “Thank god, I’ve refused to watch this current series so I’m pleased I’ll be able to watch it again! 👏.” whilst another said: “I’m sad the duo have been axed… but I won’t be watching anymore. Not because of the new presenters, but I’m over the show in its current boring format. #masterchefaustralia is far more challenging and fun.”
Some fans were less than pleased with the news and one wrote: “Definitely won’t be watching…….. Masterchef is over guys,” whilst another said: “Still think John was thrown under a bus.”
Another fan said: “People hate change, John and Gregg are a hard act to follow. I’m sure these ladies will be awesome… but right now seeing John and Gregg and all feels well in the world, I’m going to miss them like crazy. I will give the ladies a chance, but please bring back Gregg and John 😢.”
Why did Grace Dent during filming of Celebrity MasterChef?
Grace Dent told the Radio Times that “I didn't have time for emotion during filming. I was too busy presenting to think about home or my family or anything else,” and also said: “'Then one of the celebrities brought up this venison dish that was autumnal, and I just cried. But all of them were amazing, they all brought their personalities.”
You can watch Celebrity MasterChef on BBC One and iPlayer from Monday November 17 at 9pm.
