Who is Charlie Murphy starring in Netflix’s steamy new thriller Obsession?

Obsession is the new four part erotic thriller that dropped on the streaming service this week and we are already - don’t say it, don't say it, don't say it - Obsessed!

It’s been dubbed the new Sex/Life (another Netflix series) and it looks as though this series is going to be even hotter. 

Based on the 1991 novel Damage by Josephine Hart, the story follows surgeon William (Richard Armitage) leading a happy normal life with wife Ingrid (Indira Varma) and their adult children Jay and Sally. But when William meets his son Jay’s soon to be fiancée Anna everything changes. William and Anna begin a passionate affair and yes you guessed it, he becomes obsessed with her. But all is not as it seems with Anna as she has a lot of secrets and a mysterious past.

Who is Charlie Murphy?

Irish actress Charlie Murphy played Ann Gallagher in BBC One’s favourite drama Happy Valley alongside Sarah Lancashire. Charlie also starred in the award winning Peaky Blinders as Jessie Eden. 

She is often mistaken for being head of the Shelby family actor Cillian Murphy’s real life sister. But even though they have the same surname both from Ireland and successful actors, the pair are not related. 

With her frequently changing acting roles, Charlie’s hair is usually changed too which is the reason why many people don't recognise her. For her role in the TV adaption of Halo, the actress had a bleach blonde pixie cut and now in Obsession, she has everyone talking with her blunt bob haircut and copper waves hair. 

It’s amazing how she keeps it looking so good but it may be due to having parents that own a hair salon.
