In a scene that would have fit in well in one of David Jason's many drama roles, the moment he discovered he may have a second daughter came through the post in the form of a letter.
The actor, who was knighted in 2005 for his services to acting and comedy, spoke to the Mirror to reveal he has been getting to know his long-lost daughter, Abi Harris. She had sent him a letter, beginning with a Dylan Thomas quote that was from the play that her mother - Jennifer Hill - and father (David) had worked together on in 1970.

Liv Tyler
The actress Liv Tyler only discovered her father was actually Steven Tyler, the frontman for Aerosmith, when she was 11 years old. For the first decade of her life she believed Todd Rundgren was her dad. It was the during the 1970s that the mother of Liv - Bebe Buell - had dated Tyler.
Despite Rundgren being aware of the chance that Liv was not his daughter, he signed the birth certificate anyway and was, to all intents and purposes, the father of Liv. He gave her his last name and provided financial support.
Liv had her doubts on who her father was and even suspected that Tyler was in fact her biological dad. She even wrote in a diary as a child, 'I think Steven is my father'. Liv had posters of Aerosmith on her bedroom walls and had met Tyler after one of his concerts alongside her mum.

It must be chemical somehow – DNA and genes. I felt a connection in a very strong way when I met him as a little girl and I didn’t know why at first, but I figured it out rather quickly."
Her mum later admitted to Liv that Tyler was in fact her biological father. She has managed to stay close to Rundgren, as well as building a good relationship with Tyler.
Paula Yates
Journalist and presenter, Paula Yates, did not know who her real father was until she was under the celebrity spotlight in 1997. It took a DNA test to reveal that Hughie Green, the Opportunity Knocks host, was actually her biological dad.
She had believed Jess Yates, a presenter, was her biological father. When the News of the World newspaper printed the claims of how Hughie Green could be her dad, it could not have come at a worse time for Paula, as it was days after the funeral of Michael Hutchence - her partner and father of one of her children.
