They have been involved in two critically acclaimed, viewing figure-smashing productions for HBO and already the names of Nick Offerman and Paddy Considine are considered favourites for acting awards ahead of this year’s Emmy Awards. With the ceremony set to take place on September 18 2023 and the nominees announced in July, it’s a testament to how powerful their roles have been.

OLBG has stated that for his role opposite Murray Bartlett’s (The White Lotus) character Frank in The Last of Us, Offerman is already an early bookie favourite to scoop the Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series award, with his odds set so far at 1/10. His role as Bill in episode three of the show drew high praise, with The Independent calling his performance “heartbreakingly beautiful.”

Another juggernaut from HBO, House of the Dragon, is expected to be one of the frontrunners at the awards ceremony, with actor Paddy Considine’s performance at Aerys Targaryen II, the Mad King we heard all about during Game of Thrones, earning him an early betting odds of 7/2 to take the Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series award.

Gold Derby, a website dedicated to forecasting potential award nominees ahead of the awards season, broke the news in November 2022 that HBO had put Considine’s name forward as a consideration for the biggest television acting award the Emmys has. Could he be joined by fellow cast members, or will we see Pedro Pascal continue his good form in 2023 with an Emmy win for Best Actor, another big name rumoured for a nomination?

With shows finishing this year too, including Succession and Ted Lasso, will we see some of the previous year's big winners come to their conclusion on top - earning another Best Drama Series and Best Comedy Series once more? We’ll have to wait until July 17 2023 to see who all the nominees are for the 75th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
