The 37-year-old actress revealed the happy news during an interview  on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 Breakfast show over a month after giving birth. Arterton said: "We are very very happy, he was born just before Christmas. A little Christmas elf."

In 2018, Gemma told the Telegraph: “I’m a neurotic person and a worrier anyway, and I think, ‘Oh God, when I have kids am I still going to be able to do all this?’ When we were kids my mum and my grandmother didn’t work, and I think that made them sad. That has influenced me.”

The St Trinians star appeared on Zoe’s show to discuss her new Sky series Funny Woman, which she described as her second “baby”. Speaking about the sitcom set in the 60’s she said: “It’s been such a passion project of mine for, well, five or six years. When it does finally come out, it sort of feels like, it is your baby, you’ve nurtured it for so long.”

Arterton has famously been very quiet about her private life. She married her husband Roy Keenan in a secret ceremony in County Wicklow in September 2019.
