The obvious comparison between Gordon Smart and Piers Morgan is that they are both journalists turned presenters. Another similarity is that they both achieved success in journalism at a young age.

Gordon was the youngest editor of The Sun’s Bizarre Showbiz column at 26 and Piers Morgan was only 28 when he was appointed editor in chief of News of the World. Piers was the youngest national newspaper editor in the UK since 1937.

Gordon, who was born in Edinburgh, is married to Kate Leishman and the couple have two children together, a son Jimmie, and a daughter, Laurie.

It will be interesting to see what the next move will be in Gordon’s broadcasting career.
