Many contestants on Strictly Come Dancing talk about the ‘journey’ they go on when they sign up for the show, but it seems that Helen Skelton has gone on the greatest journey of all.

When Helen Skelton agreed to take part in Strictly, she had just split up from husband Richie Myler. She had also just given birth to their third child four months before.

As if those life changes were not monumental enough, Helen also had to contend with her husband making his relationship with Stephanie Thirkill public. It is therefore understandable that her confidence was at an all time low.

However, thanks to her partner Gorka Marquez and her positive experience on the show, it appears that she has slowly regained her confidence.

When she spoke ahead of the final, Helen revealed that her partner Gorka Marquez was “clever because he’s never made it about being sexy, it’s been about being sassy and powerful and being in control and that’s a wonderfully freeing thing for anybody when they feel in control of their own self and what they’re doing.”

It would appear that Helen Skelton’s refound confidence has had a strong effect on the legions of her fans. Many have praised her for regaining her confidence and thanked Gorka for helping her do this.

So what’s next for Helen Skelton after appearing on Strictly Come Dancing? Despite not winning the show, it is thought that Helen is set to land new roles and potentially her own show.

Helen has also won the support and praise of fellow television presenter Dan Walker who appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021. He shared his views on Helen’s ‘win’ on his Instagram. “Helen didn’t win but she has won. She danced through a whirlwind, never mentioned it and remained dignified throughout. Her mum, dad and kids must be so proud of her.”
