Fans want Craig Doyle to be the replacement for Phillip Schofiled on This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby

Holly Willoughby will host This Morning alongside Craig Doyle today after spending two days with Josie Gibson by her side. The ITV presenter returned to the show this week and publicly addressed the Phillip Schofiled scandal in a statement whilst holding back tears. 

Josie Gibson has shared a gushing Instagram post over her co-presenter Holly she said “Thank you to this legend and her infectious energy!!! @hollywilloughby you are such a fabulous broadcaster...loved our last two days together.”

“Passing the baton onto @craigdoyle I will be out in the sunshine bringing you an incredible competition from a canal boat.”

Josie will still be on the show this week but she will be presenting the competition segment from a canal boat travelling from her hometown all the way to Reading. 

Over the years Craig Doyle has been a regular on the This Morning sofa as a fill in when needed. The Irish presenter is a firm favourite with audiences for his tall, dark and handsome appearance. But it seems fans of the show are now wanting him to be a permanent fixture and be the replacement for Phillip Schofield. 

There have been plenty of hosts to fill his shoes Alison Hammond was the frontrunner with Dermot O’Leary, and Josie also thrown into the mix too. However now it seems Craig with his warm nature and Irish accent may have taken the lead. 

Fans took to social media to urge This Morning to keep the presenter on full-time, one person wrote “Craig Doyle is the best thing to have happened to #ThisMorning in a very long time.” 

Another person added “Holly & Craig are just perfect together! He should definitely be given the job.”

A third person praised the ITV daytime show and wrote “@thismorning Congratulations, at last you have got something right, Craig Doyle presenting, lovely, intelligent, gorgeous Irishman. Please keep him.”
