How has Holly Willoughby reacted to Phillip Schofield’s affair?

Following Phillip Schofield’s statement yesterday, there have been plenty of reactions from celebrities and the general public. However, one key person has remained silent about it, until now. This Morning’s presenter Holly Willougby has taken to her Instagram and said the following on her stories: “It’s taken time to process yesterday’s news. When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly  if this was true and was told it was not. It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie.”

Although Holly is not due back on This Morning until the beginning of June as she has taken a break because of half term, she obviously felt compelled to share her side of the story. The Daily Mail reports that Holly’s comments “comes amid reports that her career as a bubbly breakfast presenter with ITV might be hanging by a thread as questions are raised about who at the channel knew about their relationship.”

Before Holly shared her thoughts on social media, PeopleWorld had run a poll on Twitter to ask the following: Following the statement by Phillip Schofield, what would you like to see happen on This Morning? Twitter users were then given two options, Would they prefer to see Holly stay on or would they rather two new presenters joined the show? 88% responded to say they preferred two new presenters, but this was before Holly broke her silence.
