Speaking to MailOnline, Corden said: "However it gets received, there's nothing we can really do about that.

“I'll just always consider it an absolute privilege to be part of something that Jez has written."

Mammals is a six-part series written by two-time Olivier and Tony Award-winning Jez Butterworth.

It is described as a comedy drama about the complexities of marriage: there is sadness, grief, tension, love, friendship, betrayal, and a touch of magical realism.

When the consequences of all of the characters’ actions come to light, the revelations send shockwaves through both families.

The first looks at the show feel timely in the wake of Corden’s alleged outburst at the restaurant ‘Balthazar’ in New York.

It is said that Corden was abusive towards a member of the waiting staff after James was upset that the egg white was mixed with the yolk in his wife's omelette during a recent visit.
