A look at the relationship between Jerry Springer and Len Goodman who both passed away this week

When the news broke that Jerry Springer had died at the age of 79, only a couple of days after Len Goodman had passed, I didn’t immediately didn’t know there was a connection between the pair.

However, Jerry Springer appeared on Dancing With the Stars back in 2006 when Len Goodman was a judge on the show. When Jerry was voted out, Len said to him: “You brought so much joy and entertainment to this show, I think you’ve done great.”

Other famous faces on the show over the years have included Kim Kardashian who was on Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars. According to The US Sun, Kim Kardashian was branded by Dancing with the Stars fans as one of the top 10 worst show dancers of all time in the competition.

In November last year, Len Goodman told People that there were many favourite moments from his time as a judge on Dancing with the Stars. He said that “George Hamilton doing the Paso Doble as Zorro, the Gay Blade, Jerry Springer, hoping to stay in (the competition) long enough so he could learn to waltz and dance it at his daughter’s wedding, spring to mind in a flash when I look back.”

Although Jerry Springer worked in politics and served as the mayor of Cincinnati from 1977-8, it was undoubtedly his tenure as host of The Jerry Springer Show that most people remember him for.

According to the BBC, The Jerry Springer Show was “Initially positioned as a political show, it faltered, until it changed tack, focusing on the controversial topics it became famous for, such as adultery, resulting in physical fights, swearing and confrontation.”

Tributes as expected have started to flood in for Jerry Springer. KSI said: "RIP Jerry Springer. You made my off days at school so much more entertaining.”
