BBC Radio 2 said goodbye to Ken Bruce today after his three decade career at the broadcasting house.

The Scottish radio host said he had been ‘forced to leave earlier than intended’ and is set to be replaced by Vernon Kay, as the station continues to undergo a massive makeover, despite criticism at its attempt to ‘rejuvenate’ the line-up.

Longstanding DJs Paul O’Grady, Vanessa Feltz, Simon Mayo and Craig Charles have all announced their departures in recent months, with the likes of Rylan Clark and Michelle Visage taking their slots on air.

So as the BBC Radio 2 family all goes their separate ways, we take a look at Ken Bruce’s family at home including his wife and his six children:

Ken Bruce has stood at the altar three times, with his first marriage to Fiona Fraser in 1976 lasting until the pair got a divorce in 1988.

Just two years after his initial divorce, Ken tied the knot with Anne Gilchrist in 1990 but sadly had to file for another separation five years down the line.

For Ken, third time's a charm, as the BBC veteran married Kerith Coldham in 2000 and is still married to this day.

From his three marriages, Ken has six children with four sons and two daughters, namely Murray, Verity, Campbell, Charlie, Douglas and Kate Bruce.

Throughout his career, Ken has been an active campaigner for autism charities as his son Murray suffers with the condition - Ken has worked on several television shows to not only raise awareness but to also help his son.

In 2022, Ken and Murray were involved in an interview for a BBC One documentary called Farming England: Farming on the Spectrum, as Murray is one of several non-verbal helpers on a care farm, Pennyhooks Farm.

Just last month, Ken and Murray Bruce were also involved in the first part of Chris Packham’s documentary Inside Our Autistic Minds.
