His wit and light-hearted humour appealed to the masses during the dark days of the pandemic as the actor began to draw in a following of nearly six million.

Most videos began with the same cheeky introduction where Leslie said: “Well s***, what are y’all doing today?”

At the time of his death, Leslie had 1,000 posts on his Instagram revealing his dedication to his new-found fame and career.

The beloved actor spoke about his viral successes in June 2020, where he told the Washington Post he 'wasn’t sure what happened'.

“I don’t know how I did it because now I scramble for content…every day I’m thinking ‘oh my god! I need to post. What should I come up with?”

The Call Me Kat star posted a video the day before his death announcing his upcoming country single as he explored a career in music.

It showed him singing along to a guitar with his friend Danny Myrick who has previously worked with stars including Kelly Clarkson and Tim McGraw.

Myrick paid tribute to the star on Instagram: “The world lost an enormous light today. One of one. Loved by all and he truly loved everyone. He welcomed all who entered his circle, the entertainment world’s biggest stars or the clerk at Ralph’s in the most beautiful, accepting way.

“He navigated society’s most negative waves with grace and purity. And he lived out loud at all times.”

Danny concluded that Leslie would be proud to know that even in death, he is going viral.
