Lily Collins is everywhere at the moment, thanks to Emily in Paris Season 3 premiering on Netflix today. As the daughter of renowned musician Phil Collins, Lily has received a lot of attention from a young age.
However, how much is known about her husband Charlie McDowell and the couple’s relationship?

Hide AdCharlie McDowell is an American film director and screenwriter and is most well known professionally for his film The One I Love (which starred actress Elisabeth Moss). He is the son of actors Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen (who is now married to Ted Danson).

Although Charlie’s surname is McDowell, he has taken to social media many times to joke that actress Andie MacDowell (obviously a different spelling) is his mother. On one occasion he shared a photograph of her with the caption, ‘31 years ago this woman gave birth to me.’
When it comes to Charlie McDowell’s relationship with Lily Collins, the couple met randomly (despite both being in the same industry).
“We had been in the same room a bunch of times but never met,” she told Ellen DeGeneres on her show. “It was kind of one of those cheesy but love at first sight things.”

Lily wore a beautiful lace dress by Ralph Lauren. She did not choose a veil as the dress featured a unique hood and cathedral-length cape.
In September this year, Lily shared a photograph from their wedding on her Instagram with the caption; “A year ago today, I chose my forever tomorrow.
Having you by my side to have and to hold is the greatest gift I could ever have hoped for.”

His mum Mary Steenburgen also offered her thoughts on the post. “I am so glad that you found your love and that your love is your hero. Mine is too. We are blessed. Happy Anniversary to you two dreamboats.”
