Season four will be the final series following the adventures of Monse, Cesar and Ruby, but do not worry as Netflix looks set to visit Freeridge once again in future shows.

Here’s all you need to know about On My Block season four.

Who’s in the cast of On My Block season 4?

Season four will see the return of all the crowd favourites including: Monse (Sierra Capri), Cesar (Diego Tinoco), Ruby (Jason Genao), Jamal (Brett Gray), Jasmine (Jessica Marie Garcia), and Spooky (Julio Macias).

How did On My Block season 3 end?

The end of On My Block season three left viewers with a great cliffhanger ending, setting up the latest season brilliantly.

A two-year flash-forward at the end of the series saw Monse sent away to boarding school where she found a new core friend group.

Jamal was seen playing American football again, and Cesar had become fully embedded within the Santos. Spooky also seemed to have shaken off his gang affiliations to concentrate on raising a family with his girlfriend/wife.

Finally, the time jump showed Jasmine and Ruby unable to keep their hands off each other.

Speaking ahead of the new season, executive producer Eddie Gonzalez spoke to Hollywood Life, saying audiences will see a “darker shade to Cesar given what he’s seen", adding: "You wonder what the Cesar who runs the gang looks like? What does an Oscar look like? What does it do when you take the guy out of the life? You can take the guy out of the life, but can you take the life out of the guy?

"There will be definitive answers to what really dismantled this group of friends.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Lauren Lungerich, said the series 3 finale was a chance to shake things up. She said: "They’ve all seen each other as friends and as a collection of individuals that make a group, and they are now really starting to identify on their own as separate individuals.

And so we’re on that precipice with them as they’re taking on the challenges of having new identities separate from each other, but yet they still want to be together.

"I think that’s really what happens when you go to high school: You start to carve out what your place in the world is going to be. And sometimes that’s in conflict with where your friends are at, and sometimes it’s in concert with them."

The death happens in episode five of the latest series, and takes place when Oscar is preparing for his upcoming move to Portland.

Will there be On My Block season 5?

Despite being a surprise hit for the streaming platform, On My Block will not be returning to Netflix for season five.

The cast and crew of the show have been saying their goodbyes on social media since the release of the final show.

However, this may not be the final time Netflix visits Freeridge. The streaming service had previously announced an On My Block sequel series, Freeridge, which could follow a new set of friends navigating their time in the area.

According to a Netflix press release, the sequel show will follow a new Core Four who live in town, and will be more female-driven.

The stories of Freeridge continue in this On My Block spinoff following a new crew of friends who may or may not have unleashed a deadly curse kicking off an unforgettable adventure," the streamer revealed.
