Peter Kay has announced his return to comedy with his first live tour in over a decade seeing tickets reasonably priced given the cost of living crisis.

The 49-year-old stand up comedian revealed he will be going on tour again around the UK for the first time since 2010.

Peter’s comeback tour will commence before the end of this year and will wrap up shortly after the comedian’s 50th birthday next year.

Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Dublin and Glasgow are some of the cities that Peter is due to perform in, among others, as Peter announced 22 dates on his Facebook page and during the advert break for I’m A Celebrity.

The news broke as a man filmed Peter from a van, while the comedian was carrying a carpet into a bungalow. The cameraman shouted, “When are you next going on tour?” to which Peter replied, “Next month.”

Peter said on Facebook: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time where people need a laugh, it’s now.

“And with cost-of-living at an all time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour.”

As Peter has surprised multiple fans with pop-up “secret” shows over the past few weeks, people will be delighted to not only have a full UK tour to look forward to, but to also not worry about extortionate prices.

It comes as the House of Commons library reported in September that the cost of living measured by the Consumer Prices Index, had increased by 10.1% from the previous year.

Fans have already begun sharing their love for the comedian, as one fan tweeted: “What a f***ing hero Peter Kay is, fair play big man,” while another added: “Good a time as any to reiterate that Peter Kay is the only stand-up comedian worthy of respect.”
