It’s day three of the biggest drama on TV right now. No we’re not talking about the latest episode of Coronation Street but actually the ITV This Morning feud between Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

If you haven’t been following the rumoured falling out between former BFF’s Holly and Phil then here is a quick recap.

Tensions have been rising between the presenters over the last few weeks with multiple sources claiming it has been ‘brewing for a long time.’ Following the backlash from the ‘Queue gate’ saga and Phil’s brother's conviction for sexual offences, Holly has reportedly distanced herself from her co-host and the pair's friendship has gone downhill. The show has had a loss of over 170,000 viewers in the past week and producers are in crisis talks.

Not only that but former This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes and wife Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford have also waded in on the falling out. After a fan questioned why Eammon felt the need to, Eammon ‘jumped’ in on the ‘witch hunt’ he replied “I think I have a lot more insight than you.” Whilst wife Ruth talked about a ‘feud’ appearing to make a dig at the This Mornings hosts.

This is where it gets juicy. Holly attended the Prince’s Trust Awards on Tuesday (16 May)  wearing a beautiful fitted Roland Mouret red dress and despite Phil being an ambassador for the charity he didn't attend. On Wednesday the pair ‘putting on brave faces’ for the cameras again tried to show a united front after being criticised earlier in the week for their awkward interactions.

Starting the show Phil asked Holly how her evening at the Prince's Trust event was turning his body fully towards her and giving her eye-contact (very different to his body language on Monday). Speaking of Holly's red dress Phil said “you looked gorgeous.”

Holly politely thanked him and explained that she had a lovely evening presenting an award. The Dancing on Ice host went on to explain the reason she was wearing a pretty yellow Beulah London dress today was that she was off to Buckingham palace at midday leaving Phil to ‘hold the first.’

Smiles, compliments and both being overly polite to each seems the feud is over, think again. The overly nice interaction did appear to be as if the duo were putting on a show and fans quickly caught on. Viewers of the show were not buying it at all. Taking to Twitter one fan commented “Nah not buying it . Fakery”

Another wrote “Holly seems very awkward #ThisMorning but Phil just doesn't care.” A third added “This level of fakery is an absolute cringe.”

One fan clearly picked up on the the vibe and brutally wrote “We're struggling here. Let's do one of those funny innuendos early to show we're having fun together." Getting tragic now. Have some self respect and leave Phil”

It doesn’t appear that this drama will be ending anytime soon with Alison Hammond and Rylan Clarke rumoured to be next in line to replace Phil.
