This week, This Morning viewers have become detectives to try and understand the alleged feud between long-time hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby and watch their chemistry on screen.

However, while fans have been debating Phil’s place as This Morning presenter due to remarks made by Holly, the pair could both be missing from screens for a week in the foreseeable future.

It has been reported that in just over a week’s time the duo are set to spend some time apart amid their alleged feud in which the former BFFs ‘no longer speak’ off camera, and will not present This Morning on ITV.

The news about Holly and Phil stepping away from screens comes as Phillip’s younger brother Timothy was sentenced this morning to 12 years in prison for 11 sexual offences.

Some suggest that the cooling of Phil and Holly’s friendship stems from the Schofield court case while others believe the feud has been a long-time coming following the duo’s ‘queue gate’ scandal late last year.

It must be noted that while it may seem perfect timing for the NTA winners to take a break, it actually follows a usual practice of the pair taking half term off and they will return to screens on Monday 5 June.
