In recent months Phillip Schofield has kept out of the spotlight and has been spending time with his mother Pat in Newquay, Cornwall. However, he was seen dining with Vanessa Feltz at Little Bird restaurant in London’s Chiswick and this outing is reportedly the first time he has been seen publicly since he resigned from ITV’s This Morning after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague.

According to the Daily Mail, “There were rumours earlier in the summer that Schofield was being lined up to rebuild his career on TalkTV, but his lawyers quickly shut these claims down, stating that he was ‘absolutely not’ joining the channel as far as he was aware.”

Phillip Schofield’s dining companion Vanessa Feltz is a presenter on TalkTV and has a weekday show from 4pm-7pm. Vanessa regularly used to appear as a guest on ITV’s This Morning with Phillip and Holly Willoughby.

Following Phillip Schofield’s statement about his affair, and the claims that there was a toxic atmosphere on the set of ITV’s This Morning, Vanessa Feltz said in June that “I’m absolutely devastated on behalf of everyone. I’ve always been good friends with Holly and Phil. I’ve been on that show for years and years. I just feel very sorry for anybody who’s been hurt or implicated in what’s happened. I hope the show will continue.”

Although at present, it would seem that Phillip Schofield has no intention of returning to TV, that of course has not stopped the rumours. Although he has denied joining TalkTV, there was also a rumour that he could either return to the West End or present a morning TV show on Channel 5.

Phillip Schofield is of course no stranger to London’s West End as he had a very successful run as the lead in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. In August 2019, he watched a screening of The Lion King in an open-air cinema alongside Holly Willoughby, her husband Dan Baldwin and his wife Stephanie on their joint summer break together.
