Sabrina Bartlett: who is The Larkins actress, and is she cast in Game Of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon?

The BBC has revealed it has produced a remake of Darling Buds of May, titled ‘The Larkins’.

Alongside well-known faces such as The Chase’s Bradley Walsh and The Thick Of It actress Joanna Scanlan, there has also been some relatively new faces.

Among those who some viewers might recognise is Sabrina Bartlett, whose previous credits include HBO’s award winning series, Game of Thrones and period-drama, Bridgerton.

So, who is she and who will she play in the new BBC series? This is what you need to know.

Who is Sabrina Bartlett?

Bartlett was born in Hammersmith in September 1991 and grew up on Walham Grove in Fulham.

During her early years, she spent some time in London before attending Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in Hertfordshire, a boarding school founded in 1939.

As she pursued her acting career, she then went on to train at Guildford School of Acting and graduated in 2013.

It wasn’t long before she had her first acting gig, playing Hannah Stevenson in Channel 5’s Suspects in 2014.

Her first recurring role came later that year in BBC One’s World War I drama ‘The Passing Bells’, where she played Katie in five episodes.

In the past four years, her credits have included some impressive titles, with the most recent being her new role in BBC One’s The Larkins.

Bartlett is currently dating English actor Tom Greaves (Shuttlecock, Peter Rabbit).

Who is her character in The Larkins?

Bartlett will revamp Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones’ role for The Darling Buds of a May remake.

In the upcoming series, she plays the eldest child of Pops (Bradley Walsh) and Ma (Joanna Scanlan), Mariette.

Mariette is a strikingly beautiful young woman who has itchy feet, as she wants to pursue bigger dreams than working for her family’s farm.

However, she is incredibly loyal to her parents and does not want to upset them. When the tax man investigating her father shows a romantic interest in her, she realises she could use it to her advantage.

What other roles has Sabrina Bartlett played in?

In 2014, She had a major guest role in Doctor Who episode ‘Robot of Sherwood’,  followed by playing recurring roles of Sophia in Da Vinci’s Demons and Keren Smith in Poldark.

In 2016, Bartlett appeared in the sixth season finale of the HBO series Game of Thrones, ‘The Winds of Winter’ as a member of House Frey, then revealed to be Arya Stark in disguise.

Since 2019, her leading roles have become more notable as Abigail Turner in the 2019 third season of period-drama Victoria.

Her big hit came when she was cast as Siena Rosso, an opera singer who had a clandestine relationship with Anthony Bridgerton, in Netflix’s hit series, Bridgerton.

It is not thought that Bartlett will reprise her role in Game of Thrones for the upcoming sequel, House of a Dragon.

The first series consist of six episodes which will air across successive Sundays, as well as a Christmas special.
