Sara Cox Every Step of the Way for Children in Need: What time is BBC show on tonight - how much did she raise?

Sara Cox raised millions for Children IN Need last week with her Great Northern Marathon Challenge.

The public were enthralled as the BBC Radio 2 star undertook a huge physical challenge as she jogged, ran, and walked 135 miles through Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire. The whole country seemed to be behind Sara as she completed her challenge over a course of five days last week.

She battled through pain and exhaustion to cross the finish line, with Radio 2 listeners and presenters cheering the star along the entire way. Some supporters even lined the streets and roads Sara travelled past in a bid to will her over the finish line.

The mammoth challenge was documented every step of the way for a documentary set to air on the BBC tonight.

When is Sara Cox: Every Step of the Way for Children in Need on TV?

A special one-hour documentary following Sara’s incredible journey across the north of England will air at 8pm on BBC One on Wednesday, November 19.

The one-off programme documents the ups and downs of Sara’s gruelling 135-mile journey, from her setting off in Kielder Forest to crossing the line in Pudsey on the outskirts of Leeds.

Speaking about her experience and how she got through the challenge, Sara said: “I would like to thank Chase and Status and Stormzy for Backbone. And I'd like to apologise to my son because on telly, if it stays on the documentary, I am singing that song quite a lot and it’s so cringe. So I am so sorry to my kids. We spend a lot of time playing brilliant music on Radio 2... I was singing along at one point like a mad woman, singing along to Blur, and all sorts just to try and push through.”

How much did Sara Cox raise for Children In Need?

The final total of Sara’s challenge came to a huge £10,169,084. This came from supporters donation from home, as well as donation buckets that were filled by supporters out on the road.

Upon hearing the final total, Sara said: “Oh my god, we done the £10m…I can’t believe it. You absolute legends, that’s incredible! Oh my gosh, thank you so much. That’s going to change and help so many lives, so many kids, thank you so much!”
