HBO’s award-winning drama Succession has returned for season three, now available to watch in the UK.

Following on from where Succession season two left off, Kendall tries to split the family as he prepares to take down his father and inherit the Waystar RoyCo empire.

The trailer for the season shows family feuds, media attention and sibling rivalry putting pressure on the Media and Entertainment corporation, as patriarch Logan fights for his family and workers’ loyalty.

So, who stars in the new series and how can you watch it in the UK? This is what you need to know.

Brian Cox as Logan Roy

Cox stars as patriarch and founder of Waystar RoyCo, whose son Kendall has turned against him.

His character, Logan, is a no nonsense power hungry billionaire and head of the media empire. He has embedded his money-driven motivations into his four children - Connor, Kendall, Shiv and Roman.

Scottish Olivier-award-winning actor Cox has previously starred in Churchill (2017), Braveheart (1995) and Rob as Hannibal Leckter in Manhunter.

Co-starring alongside Cox is Jeremy Strong in the role of heir to the empire, Kendall. In explosive scenes from the season 3 trailer, he is seen declaring civil war upon his father.

Kendall is a master manipulator and this plays out in his role as an ambitious entrepreneur, but also in his darker side when succumbed to substance abuse. He is seen in the trailer beckoning his siblings to take his side and turn their back on their father.

Strong shot to fame in his role for Succession, but has previous credits for his role in Selma (2014), The Big Short (2015) and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) among others.

The leading female in the HBO series is Sarah Snook, as the only daughter of Logan - Shiv.

Shiv is more level headed than her eldest brother, despite being the baby of the family. She is respected by her father and Kendall, making her the middle-man when it comes to the internal feud. While she is more subdued, she also has a difficult marriage with Waystar executive Tom Wambsgans.

Australian actress Snook starred in The Dressmaker (2015), as well as Sisters of War (2010), Steve Jobs (2015), and Pieces of a Woman (2020).

Culkin is set to become a lead player in the third season, having previously supported the middle brother of the Roy dynasty, Roman.

He is the second son of Logan and often is overshadowed by Kendall. This is partly down to his less professional approach to business, with his potty-mouth and laid back mentality. Despite this, he feels he is entitled to the same power as his siblings.

Culkin is one of three brothers who have all enjoyed Hollywood stardom, his brothers as Home Alone Macaulay and Lords of Chaos actor Rory. He has starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) and Netflix series Fargo.

Waystar executive and in-law of the Waystar RoyCo empire, Tom is Shiv’s husband and the pair struggle to balance personal vs professional interests.

Tom may be in a senior role, but the family tends to cast him aside and he uses other staff at the corporation to exercise his powers, mainly Greg.

BAFTA award winning British actor Macfadyen is best known for his roles in Pride and Prejudice as Mr Darcy, as well as Detective Inspector Edmund Reid in Ripper Street.

Logan’s eldest son from his first marriage, Connor, is less fixated on inheriting the media empire and more so on inheriting the power of the country - as he plans to run for US President.

Ruck is a seasoned screen actor, first featuring in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986) as Cameron Frye. He has also starred in Three Fugitives (1989) and Young Guns II (1990).

The youngest Roy is Logan’s great nephew, who struggles to understand the inner workings of Waystar but is ambitious about his future within the company nonetheless.

He works closely with Tom, who uses him to project his toxic-masculinity onto as neither are taken too seriously by Logan or the others.

Despite the lack of appreciation for Greg in the series, Braun received a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 for his role.

Peter Friedman as Frank Vernon

Frank is torn in the third series of Succession, as he has previously served as both a close and long serving confidant of Logan and as a mentor to Kendall.

The eldest Logan sibling pushes Frank to pick a side as he attempts to turn his father’s organisation on him.

With dozens of credits to his name, Friedman is a seasoned Hollywood actor. His best known work includes Freedomland (2006) and Sky’s drama The Affair.

He has also appeared in guest roles in shows including Miami Vice, NYPD Blue and Ghost Whisperer.

Natalie Gold plays Rava Roy

Rava is the mother of Kendall’s two children, though she is estranged from her husband.  Kendall’s estranged wife with whom he has two children.

Gold is best known for her roles in Rubicon as Julia Harwell and as Dr. Lyla Bellshaw in The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

The American actress, 45, has also spent much of her career performing in theatre and on Broadway.

Lady Caroline is the second wife of Logan Roy, and estranged mother to Kendall, Shiv, and Roman.

British acting legend and national treasure Walter is best known for her film appearances in Sense and Sensibility, The Governess, Villa des Roses, Atonement, The Young Victoria, A Royal Affair, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Denial, The Sense of an Ending, Rocketman and Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel.

She recently appeared in Ted Lasso, Killing Eve as Dasha and Belgravia, as Countess of Brockenhurst, Caroline.

Marcia is Logan’s third wife and does not share any children with the media giant. Instead, she struggles to have a relationship with any of his power-hungry kids.

Palestinian actress Abbass, 60, has appeared in a number of films and TV shows, such as Lemon Tree (2008) and The Syrian Wife (2004).

J. Smith-Cameron as Gerri Kellman

While Gerri has one of the most important roles in WasyStar, as the general counsel, she is also the office flirt.

She is a close friend of her boss, Logan, but also has an odd sexual tension with his son, Roman.

J. Smith-Cameron was originally a stage actress moved to TV later in her career, though she starred in some series and movies since the 1990s. Her best known roles are for Succession and  andas Janet Talbot on the television series Rectify.

Arian Moayed as Stewy Hosseini

Stewy is Kendall’s longtime friend and Equity fund manager, the pair met in college and he is the supporting act to Kendall’s takeover.

His previous work includes Appropriate Behaviour (2014), while his upcoming work includes MCU film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and true-crime drama ‘Inventing Anna’, set for release in 2022.

Larry Pine as Sandy Furness

Sandy is the owner of a rival media conglomerate and is currently in partnership with Stewy and backs his private equity fund.

Film legend Pine has starred and supported in dozens of award-winning movies - from Miranda and Miranda (2004) to Maid in Manhattan (2002), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and Beirut (2018).

He has also starred in TV shows including House of Cards, Gotham, Homeland and Oz.

Justine Lupe as Willa Ferreyra

Connor Roy’s young girlfriend Willa is a former call girl, which make her aspirations as a playwright somewhat overlooked by the family.

Lupe is best known for appearing in Amazon series The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel as well as Cristela and NBC series Harry’s Law.

David Rasche as Karl Muller

Waystar RoyCo chief financial officer Karl works alongside Kellman in the legal team.

Rasche previously starred in, In the Loop (2009) and Men in Black 3 (2012) as well as shows like The West Wing, Ugly Betty and Veep.

Fisher Stevens as Hugo Baker

Hugo is a senior communications executive at Waystar and was previously tasked with managing the Brightstar cruise line scandal.

Fisher is an Academy Award winning director as well as an actor, with his credits including as a producer on hit Netflix docuseries Tiger King and 2009 documentary The Cove.

He also co-produced Before The Flood (2012) and 2021 movie Palmer, starring Justin Timberlake.

Who are the new faces for season three?

Joining the cast for season three is Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård (Godzilla vs Kong, The Legend of Tarzan) as Lukas Matsson, a tech founder and CEO who has just joined WayStar.

Also new to the series is Sanaa Lathan (Alien vs Predator, voice actor of Donna Tubbs on The Cleveland Show) as Lisa Arthur - a well-connected New York lawyer who represents Kendall in season three.

South Korean musician and actor Jihae Kim (Mortal Engines) will also be cast in season three, as public relations consultant Berry Schneider

Academy Award winner Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Grand Budapest Hotel) will star as Billionaire activist investor Josh Aaronson, who has his own ideas about the leadership at WayStar.

As Kendall rips apart the family and company, he also enlists the support of PR representative Comfry, played by Belarusian actor Dasha Nekrasova (Cake; Dickinson; The Serpent).

More than one family expands in season three, as Sandy is joined by his daughter - Sandi (Hope Davis). The Emmy-winning actress is best known as Tony Stark’s mother Maria Stark in Captain America: Civil War.

Linda Emond (Julie and Julia; The Good Wife) also joins the cast for season three, as White House aide Michelle-Anne Vanderhoven.

Succession airs on Sky Atlantic and NOW from Monday 18th October.
