The Masked Singer: Who is Arctic Fox? All clues and fan theories as judges go Drag Race route while fans sway towards Strictly legend
The Masked Singer is back on our screens as with guesses over who could be behind the mask already flying around.
The biggest guessing game on television returned to screens for a seventh series last week, with a special double-bill launch on Saturday and Sunday.
Viewers were introduced to 12 new characters and the unmasking got off to an early start, with two celebrities unmasked on the first weekend of the series. Presenter Alex Jones, who was disguised as Disc Jockey, and musician Professor Green, who was Teabag, were both unmasked.
But what about the performers still in the running? Here's everything we know so far about Arctic Fox.
What are the clues to Arctic Fox in The Masked Singer so far?
We may only be a few episodes into the serie,s but we already have plenty of clues for Arctic Fox. Although remember that some may be red herrings!
The masked star performed Get The Party Started by Pink in episode two, followed up by Gold by Spandau Ballet for Sports Week.
There have been an abundance of clues in Arctic Fox’s VTs so far - including:
- An unfinished sketch of Arctic Fox
- They said “you may bow before me” while they walked through a building that looked like a palace
- “I’ve worn many crowns in my time” and they “always expect red carpet treatment”
- A card hand featuring two eights and three aces (a full house in poker)
- “This Arctic Fox has sharp claws when needed”
- A jar labeled ‘food for hungry bears’
- Arctic Fox has “spent years perfecting my craft” in front or behind the camera
- A movie clapboard with ‘Take 15’ on it as well as ‘M. McFadyen’ and ‘C. O’Grady’
- “I’m more likely to give you the cold shoulder”
- A glass on its side with acorns spilling out
- “I hope you are ready for another evening with myself and my companions”
- A vase of orange flowers changing to blue/frozen
- “There’s no point paddling around the fact...”
- “I’ve got a fighting chance so the gloves are off”
- “Spring, summer, autumn, winter, this Arctic Fox has shown I can survive every season”
- “I’ve played my part in a place bursting with emotional drama, where patience matter, or is it patients matter?”
- A magazine cover titled ‘Frost Bite’ with tagline ‘Life hacks for an Ice time’ alongside a picture of a pickaxe in ice
Who do the judges think Arctic Fox is?
The judges were properly puzzled by Arctic Fox’s first VT and performance. At first, their couldn’t even figure out if a man or woman lay underneath the mask, but that all changed when the deep voice came out in the performance.
By Arctic Fox’s second appearance on the show, the judges had formulated some clever guesses as to who lies behind the mask. Davina McCall picked up on the blue clues in Arctic Fox’s costume, sets, and nods to this in their VT (flowers turning blue). She took a punt on Drag Race UK star Blu Hydrangea.
Maya Jama also led with her drag queen guess from Arctic Fox’s first week in the competition, before thinking that a professional dancer may be behind the mask. She guessed that Brendan Cole was the hidden star.
Guest judge Freddie Flintoff also took a punt, guessing that Louie Spence was Arctic Fox. Mo Gilligan also went down the Drag Race route and guessed ex-star Courtney Act.
Jonathan led with Davina’s ‘blue clues’ and thought literally, piecing his guess together to speculate that Duncan James from the boyband Blue was underneath the mask.
Who do fans think Arctic Fox is?
Viewers took to social media to share their fan theories and thought on Arctic Fox’s true identity. A popular guess amongst fans has been Strictly Come Dancing legend Anton Du Beke.
One fan said: “Oh come off it panel Arctic Fox is clearly Anton Du Beke it’s not even questionable.”
Another fan added: “Arctic fox on #maskedsingeruk sounds so much like Anton Du Beke but I'm not sure the clues pointed to him at all.”
Other names floated by viewers include Rylan Clark and Richard E Grant. Some viewers have run with Maya’s Drag Race theory and put some of the clues together. They think it could be either Divina De Campo or Veronica Green.
