While Tom Hiddleston’s character in The Night Manager was tasked with ‘infiltrating the inner circle of an arms dealer and his lover’s killer’ in the first season, the BBC series simultaneously infiltrated fans’ hearts and it is now back for a second season.

The upcoming season is reportedly in the works between Amazon Prime and BBC with Tom Hiddleston set to make a return after starring alongside the likes of Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman and Elizabeth Debicki in the 2016 production.

Both Elizabeth and Olivia have since starred in Netflix’s The Crown among other productions and Hugh Laurie has featured in Will Ferrell’s Holmes and Watson in addition to several TV shows.

But Tom Hiddleston has arguably taken both sides of the pond by storm as he has been cast in multiple roles in the seven year break from The Night Manager season one and season two - PeopleWorld takes a look.

Kong: Skull Island

Just a year after The Night Manager aired on the BBC, Tom Hiddleston traded fighting his inner monsters for ‘real’ monsters in the form of King Kong and Skull Island’s underground native beasts as James Conrad.

Tom was cast with Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson and John C. Reilly as the adventurers find out more about the fictional ape.

If you think of Tom Hiddleston, many people will jump to name his as the iconic Loki in the Marvel series, after he first took on the role in Thor in 2011.

However, since The Night Manager, Tom has not only reprised Loki in Marvel movies including Avengers: Endgame, Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok, but he has also been the starring role in his own television series ‘Loki’ which aired on Disney+.

Early Man

Tom Hiddleston is a man of many talents, and among fighting King King and Thanos and also dating Taylor Swift, Tom voiced animated characters in movies.

Move aside the loveable villain Prince of Asgard and hello to antagonist Lord Nooth - Tom’s character in Early Man, a Wallace and Gromit-esque stop-motion movie which also features the voices of Eddie Redmayne and Maisie Williams.

The Essex Serpent

One of Tom’s most recent roles before season two of The Night Manager was in the Apple TV production of The Essex Serpent, adapted from a Sarah Perry novel of the same name.

Cast as a pastor opposite Claire Danes in the TV series’ six episodes, Tom was situated in Essex when Claire’s character moves to his town to investigate reports of a mythical creature.
