The real estate which Anne’s family owned and where they lived features extensively in the series with many of the scenes set at the hall actually filmed there.

Anne’s bedroom scenes were shot in a studio because the film crew could not fit into her real room.

Shibden Hall is now a visitor attraction and is maintained by Calderdale Council - hall garners were asked not to mow the lawns ahead of filming so that the estate would look more like it did in Anne’s day.
