Meet Richard Keys’ new wife who is his daughter’s friend and the woman he allegedly left his sick wife for

Former Sky Sports football pundit Richard Keys has not been seen on British television since he was sacked alongside Andy Gray over a decade ago when the pair were caught making derogatory comments about female Premier League official Sian Massey off-air.

Shortly after his exit from Sky Sports, Richard Keys made headlines once again after he allegedly had an affair with his daughter’s former friend while his then-wife Julia Keys was battling thyroid cancer.

While Richard Keys originally denied rumours saying: “Did I leave my wife fighting cancer? No. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know why our marriage ended the way it did, but my wife was fighting cancer for seven years before I left her and she had been in remission for seven years,” Julia filed for divorce in 2016 on grounds of adultery and flew back to the UK from Qatar where the couple lived at the time for Keys’ job in beIN Sports.

Now seven years later, the disgraced presenter has secretly tied the knot to the lady in question Lucie Rose in a Devon ceremony that reportedly cost £20,000.

Lucie Rose, a lawyer 32 years his junior, was pictured in a gorgeous white gown adorned with flowers and accessorised by a white veil, with an estuary forming the backdrop to the ceremony.

Lucie and Richard had originally planned to get married sooner after Richard popped the question two years ago, however Covid-19 changed their nuptial plans. The event also comes after Richard previously slated Brooklyn Beckham for his wedding on Twitter saying: "Is it only me or does anyone else find the Beckham wedding plans totally unacceptable when there’s so much misery happening elsewhere in the world? A little class wouldn’t go amiss."

The bride’s friend Rebecca Marie, a local wedding planner, helped to orchestrate the event that saw guests staying at the Marina Hotel in Dartmouth and arriving at the wedding by ferry. 

It is believed that the newlyweds met through a mutual acquaintance in the Qatari capital Doha, but also knew of one another through Richard and Julia’s daughter Jemma, who was not at the wedding similar to her brother Joshua.

Lucie, whose Instagram handle is ‘illegally_blonde1’ referencing Reese Witherspoon’s iconic movie about a female lawyer, is thought to no longer be friends with Richard’s daughter as Julia Keys alluded to in her book The MANScript.

Julia said: “Richard's affair didn't just devastate my world, but the world of our children Jemma and Josh too. It is only now, two years on, that he has admitted he did have an affair with Lucie, as well as acknowledging his deceit and the damage it has caused.”
