Comedian and presenter Joel Dommett will hit our TV screens tonight with brand new Channel 4 dating show, The Love Trap.
The show is unlike the First Dates or Married at First Sight UK, which aim to bring two well-meaning, unlucky-in-love singletons together.
This show comes with a massive trap, a bachelor will be introduced to a mansion full of young women who all want to win him over - BUT half of them are in relationships and he doesn’t know who.
At the end of each episode, David has to eliminate one woman and she is brutally dumped through a trap door as David tries to find the girls who are genuine.
So, who is the bachelor looking for love? David Birtwistle. Familiar? You may recognise him.
Who is David Birtwistle?
The bachelor at the centre of the epic love trap is personal trainer David Birtwistle, who some may recognise from the inaugural series of Too Hot To Handle.
The Netflix Show pitches physically attractive contestants on a paradise island - dressed in little more than a bikini or board shorts - and offers them prize money for remaining celibate.
Needless to say, Londoner Birtwistle did not find love on the raunchy dating show but did reach the finals.
Since leaving the show, he has become an ambassador for Nike Training and also launched his own online fitness coaching business, Endeavour Life.
Now, 31-year-old David is desperately searching for love, but has again used a dating show to help him find the perfect woman.
What has David said about his ideal partner?
Fans of Too Hot Too Handle may remember he struck up romantic relationships with two contestants on the show.
His two prospective partners were Chloe Veitch and late arrival Lydia Clyma, and while he went as far as the finals with Lydia the pair couldn’t make it last in the real world.
He did however remain friends with Chloe.
Both girls were actresses, brunette and live close to or in London.
Prior to the Channel 4 series, Birtwistle said his perfect partner would be “outgoing, fun and bubbly”.
“Someone who is driven, they want to achieve in their life, and they want to go places,” he added.
In order to find her on The Love Trap, he needs to sift out the genuine singletons from eight beautiful prospective partners, the other four are only in it for the cash prize and lying about their interest in him.
The prize money has not been revealed prior to the show airing, but is expected to be in the five figure region.
He’ll now need to work out who is genuine from 25-year-old Saran from Wales, Chloe, 22, from Colchester; Liverpudlian Demi, 28;, Eleanor, 25, from Barnsley; Essex girl Elise, 23; J’Harie, 26, from Reading; Brummie lass Kelly, 26; and Thea, 23, from Haywards Heath.
When is The Love Trap on TV?
The Love Trap begins on Channel 4 at 9pm on Thursday 21 October.
