People reported that the reality television star popped the question to Deschanel while the pair were holidaying in Scotland and Zooey’s two children, Elsie and Charlie, also had a role to play in the proposal, undertaking in a place that Scott has a significant heritage with.

Some US readers will no doubt recall Jonathan and his identical brother Drew, who co-hosted “Property Brothers,” both wore traditional kilts for the latter's wedding in 2018. Their father emigrated from Scotland to Canada as a teenager, where both brothers were raised in Vancouver, British Columbia.
