Week seven was another shocking week of results, as Strictly Come Dancing entered the second half of the competition.

With tracks from Sting, Dolly Parton and Dorothy Provine, Pinky and The Girls - as the contestants wowed with their cheeky rumbas and smooth quick steps.

Despite all the swinging, shimmying and sashaying, we also had a few outfit horrors - which many on Twitter blamed for Tilly Ramsey’s less impressive performance.

This year has been described by judge Craig Revel Horwood as the best for talented contestants, making it the hardest to preempt who will go home.

So, who went home in week 7? This is what you missed on the BBC One show.

Who went out of Strictly week 7?

Following a dramatic Saturday of dancing, it looked likely that BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker would be in the bottom two, with his sickly sweet Ken doll outfit and lack of *actual* dancing, but the viewers felt otherwise.

Instead, it was Tilly Ramsay and her partner Nikita Kuzmin who were announced as the first couple in the bottom two, then Adam Peaty found himself in the dance off for a second consecutive week with Katya.

After both of the couples danced again, the first three judges - Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beck - all vote to save Tilly.

Therefore, Adam could not be saved after a poor week attempting the jive and he was sent home.

Head judge Shirley Ballas then declared she would have saved Adam, which was strange as she had been a huge fan of Tilly’s dancing.

As Adam realised his fate, tears welled in his eyes, he admitted he hadn’t realised just how much the show meant to him.

He told host Tess Dally: “I have absolutely loved every single challenge.

“I’ve never had a challenge like this. As an Olympian for 16 years, I’ve pushed my body to places that I never thought it could be pushed.

“This is just a whole new ballgame and I’ve got so much respect for everyone that dances across the world and to all of these contestants and pros that put themselves on the line every single week, it’s just been a great experience.”

He added: “I just want to say thank you to Katya, everyone behind the scenes, all the judges, wardrobe, make-up artists… absolutely everyone.”

Who is left in Strictly?

As the competition heats up, the remaining eight couples will need to take their quick-step to the next step if they want to avoid the bottom two.

So, how did the contestants measure up this week? The judges gave the following points:

Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice

AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington

Tilly Ramsay and Nikita Kuzmin

John Whaite and Johannes Radebe
