Who won The Masked Singer? Moth crowned series champion as stars including girl group legend unmasked during grand final

The grand final of The Masked Singer season seven took place last night (February 14) and the remaining stars were unmasked.

The ITV Saturday night favourite drew to a close, with three stars battling for the season seven crown.

Moth, Conkers, and Toastie were all in the grand final, performing for the audience. While all eyes were on who would be crowned this year’s winner, the bigger question was which stars were behind the remaining masks.

The first star to be revealed was Toastie, who came third in the competition. After two performances of A Star Is Born by Jocelyn Brown and Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves by Eurythmics, the latter of which was performed alongside series six winner Samantha Barks, Toastie was voted off by the audience and the mask was finally lifted.

It was revealed to be soul singer Mica Paris underneath the Toastie costume. She said: “I’ve had the best time, it’s been so amazing. I wanted to do it for my grandkids… they don’t (know that I am doing The Masked Singer), they know I’m doing a show but they don’t know what it is.”

It then came down to Conkers and Moth, with host Joel Dommett revealing that Moth had been crowned the series seven winner.

Before unmasking Moth however, the real identity of runner-up Conkers was revealed. The judges were left stunned when This Morning star Ben Shephard, who had previously appeared as a guest judge this series, lifted the mask.

Shephard had performed Keep On Movin’ by Five, (I've Had) The Time of My Life" by Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, and Mr Brightside by The Killers in the grand final, including a duet with ex-contestant Andrea Corr as Snail. After his unmasked, the TV presenter said: “It’s an extraordinary experience, having turned 50, I thought I’ve got to do a few more scary things.

“And I think tonight was probably my favourite, and it felt like I’d won just being able to come on the show, so I could just really enjoy that song (The Killers’ Mr Brightside), I know my boys love that song. It’s been such an extraordinary journey.”

Finally the winner of the series, Moth, was revealed to be Sugababe legend Keisha Buchanan. Judge Maya Jama was the only panelist to correctly guess the girl group icon’s true identity. Keisha has impressed the judges and audience with renditions of I Want To Know What Love Is by Mariah Carey, Die With a Smile by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga alongside Lionfish Will Young, and Only Girl (In The World) by Rihanna.

After her crowning moment, Keisha said: “Honestly, I’ve had the best time, I think I’m more of an introvert than I am an extrovert, actually. And I think this has, you know, without the girls by my side, it’s kind of like made me a lot more confident, and it’s really brought me out of my shell.”
