The hilarious Channel 4 comedy, Hullraisers, follows the chaotic world of three native Hullians.

The six-part series was co-written by Hull born Lucy Beaumont - alongside Anne-Marie O’Connor and Caroline Moran.

Beaumont also proudly announced that the series is filmed by a Yorkshire crew!

Now that the sitcom has begun to air, and is being enjoyed by many, locals may spot some familiar locations.

Where is Hullraisers filmed?

Filming for the Channel 4 comedy has taken place in both Hull and Leeds.

In Hull, some filming took place in The Silver Cod, a pub on Anlaby Road.

Two locations on Newland Avenue are popular spots throughout the show, Larkin’s Bar and French restaurant Le Crepier Papin.

Hull-based scenes were also filmed on Goddard Avenue.

In Leeds, scenes were filmed on Otley Road in Headingley - and in a local boutique My Style Therapy.

Co-writer Lucy Beaumont said: “I’m so excited about showing the world these true Hull characters and the city that has moulded them - a city that has kept its talent and attributes hidden for too long.”

What is Hullraisers about?

Hullraisers follows the lives of three working-class women living in Hull; Toni, Rana and Paula.

Toni (played by Hull born Leah Brotherhead) is an out of work actress and a chaotic mother to a four-year-old, Grace (Matilda Firth).

Toni is married to Craig (Perry Fitzpatrick) but dreams of escaping Hull.

Rana (Taj Atwal) is Toni’s best friend and a policewoman who doesn’t want to settle down with just one man - she starts the series by dating a Hull City player.

Paula (Sinead Matthews) is Toni’s down-to-earth older sister, who married her childhood sweetheart Dane (Yanick Ghanty) - also Rana’s big brother.

The pair have two children, 7-year-old Jake (Jaylan Batten) and 17-year-old Ashley (Natalie Davies), and for them - there is ‘no place like Hull’.

The hilarious trio try to navigate their daily lives, juggling kids, big dreams and romance - all whilst trying to have some fun.

Episode one of Hullraisers aired on Channel 4 on Tuesday 12 April

The next 25-minute episode will air on Channel 4 at 9:50pm on Tuesday 19 April.

Episodes will continue weekly, with the third episode airing at 9:35pm.

However, all six episodes are available to watch or download on All 4 now.
