It’s one of the most talked about and anticipated fashion collaborations this year. High Street brand H&M and luxury fashion house Mugler launched their new collection in New York and the fashion elite were out in force.
Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon led the fashion parade wearing an item from the upcoming range, a heavily cut-out mesh bodysuit with slices of black material just about covering her modesty.

The fashion collaboration will go on sale on 11 May. The collection promises signature Mugler style with “oversized shoulders, cinched in waists, baggy jeans, denim thong jeans” and “genderfluid accessories”. There will also be lots of catsuits, cut-out bodysuits and dresses with decadent embellishments.
Baywatch star Pamela Anderson looked stunning in a black catsuit with beaded star design and blazer jacket paired with pointy black patent Christian Louboutin heels. Actress Chloë Sevigny looked effortless in a satin black jacket with chain detail, asymmetric mini skirt and sheer tights. Tobagonian actress Dominique Jackson wore the same outfit but in a pale pink colour.
But it was singer Charlie XCX that stole the show in a figure hugging cut-out black dress with show stopping gloved black shrug that made the outfit. Although it was still quite revealing it seemed to be the most wearable outfit from the collection.

I have been so excited for this collection to drop with it being described as a way to emphasise your natural curves. But I’ve been left feeling underwhelmed.
Looking at the outfits it would appear that instead of celebrating your natural curves you actually need to have a super slim figure without any curves.
There’s also no definitive price tag just yet but a pair of cut out Mugler jeans - similar to what we expect from H&M - at Selfridges will cost you around £630.
You definitely won't find us at the front of the queue when it launches in May.
