Maya Jama will ensure all eyes will be on her in this wet look dress, but who is the designer?

Love Islanders need to up their fashion game tonight as Maya Jama is entering the villa! Without question, Maya has been stealing the headliners when it comes to the new series of Love Island, and I am sure that tonight will be no exception.

Although tonight’s episode is all about Maya arriving in the villa to announce a surprise double dumping, the focus will undoubtedly be on what she is wearing.

Her figure-hugging wet look dress that she wears tonight is the ‘Golden’ Blood’ draped dress by Syndical Chamber and retails at £349.61.

In the forthcoming episode, the viewers will see Maya enter the villa with the islanders openly shocked at her entrance. “Hello lovelies! Surprise, did you miss me? Can you please all gather by the fire pit.," she says.

Although Maya Jama is new to Love Island, she has made an instant impression when it comes to her fashion choices and tonight’s dress is no exception. Fans of the wet look dress include the likes of Megan Fox and Lizzo.

Back in 2021, Lizzo wore a wet look dress to Kanye West and Drake’s Free Larry Hoover concert at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles. According to Vogue, Greek designer Dimitra Petsa’s most “well-known contribution to fashion is her ‘wet look,’ a proprietary method of draping, stitching, and combining sheer, usually white fabrics to make garments that seem to be drenched with water.”

Petsa’s ‘wet look’ dresses have been worn by the likes of Gigi Hadid (when she was pregnant), and Kylie Jenner. Vogue also revealed that “Using stretch materials is another way Petsa works to guarantee that her customers always feel right in their bodies.”

For this series of Love Island, Maya has also worn dresses by Dolce & Gabbana, Collage, Hanifa, and Mônot.
