11 countries set to move to red, amber and green lists in next UK travel review

Changes to the UK travel lists will be announced this week following the latest government review.

Transport Secretary is expected to confirm updates to the red, amber and green lists on 25 or 26 August, with several counties set to change status.

Almost 40 destinations are currently on the green list, meaning holidaymakers do not have to quarantine on their return, although 16 of these are on the ‘green watchlist’, meaning they are at risk of being moved to amber.

Several amber list counties are also being tipped to move to the red list due to an increase in coronavirus cases, meaning holidaymakers will face stricter testing and quarantine rules after travelling abroad.

Listed are 11 popular holiday destinations tipped to move to the red, amber and green lists following this week’s travel update, based on analysis from travel consultancy The PC Agency.
