Booster jabs: The parts of England where the fewest over-50s have had third vaccine

An estimated 5.3 million people aged 50 and over have still not received a booster jab.

Millions of potentially vulnerable people aged 50 and over in England have still not received their booster vaccine, despite rising cases of the highly infectious Omicron variant.

Latest figures from NHS England, which shows vaccinations up to December 12, shows almost 16 million people aged 50 and over have received a booster or full third dose, representing three quarters of people in this age group.

This leaves an estimated 5.3 million still not fully protected, despite the country’s ramped-up booster programme.

Figures which show vaccinations at a local authority level reveal stark differences across different parts of the country.

Stratford-on-Avon has vaccinated the greatest proportion of over 50s with 90.9% of its population jabbed, followed by Hart with 88.6% vaccinated and Horsham with 86% jabbed.

Not all local authorities are performing as well.
