The success of the rollout means 43.3 per cent of the population is now inoculated against the virus, with Health Secretary Matt Hancock saying the vaccination programme has now reached the home straight. People aged under 40 in the UK will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccines. Some people may experience side effects afterwards, with symptoms typically being worse after the second dose of both of these jabs. However, symptoms will usually only last around three days on average, and will typically be gone within four to five days in most cases. If you are given the Moderna vaccine, these are the most common side effects to expect.
