Covid vaccine side effects: 13 symptoms after first and second dose of Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca jabs
Over 47 million people in the UK received at least one vaccine dose and the rollout has now been extended to 16 and 17 year-olds in England in a bid to boost immunity before pupils return to school in early September.
However, there are still millions of people who remain completely unvaccinated, while others are still waiting to receive their crucial second dose to ensure maximum protection.
If you have yet to take up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccine, or are due to attend your second appointment soon, it is normal to experience some side effects after your jab.
Symptoms are typically worse after the second dose, although some people may not notice any side effects at all.
Most symptoms are mild in nature and should usually last no longer than a week, but more rare side effects can occur in a very small number of cases.
People aged under 40 will be offered the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccines, while older age groups may receive AstraZeneca.
Listed are 13 side effects commonly associated with these vaccines and how long they usually last.

13. Blood clots
There have been reports of an extremely rare blood clotting problem affecting a small number of people who received the AstraZeneca vaccine. Because of the high risk of complications and death from Covid, the MHRA, the World Health Organisation and the European Medicines Agency have concluded that the benefits of vaccination outweigh any risk of clotting problems. Those under the age of 40 without other health conditions should be offered the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine instead. Photo: OLI SCARFF
