Covid booster jabs: 15 areas of England with the lowest percentage of over-50s vaccinated with a third dose

More than 10.2 million people aged 50 and over in England have not yet received a booster or third dose.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) is set to give advice on expanding Covid-19 boosters to all adults, opening the door for millions to have heightened protection over the winter months.

As of 21 November, 12.8 million people in England had already received a booster or third dose jab, including 11 million aged 50 and over.

Analysis by NationalWorld can reveal that there are millions of people aged 50 and over who have not yet received a booster or third dose.

Data published by NHS England reveals more than 10.2 million people aged 50 and over are still not fully protected against the disease.

Across the country 95 local authorities have not yet given boosters or third doses to more than half of their over 50 population, leaving 3.6 million potentially vulnerable against the disease. This represents almost a third of all lower-tier local authorities. Analysis is based on ONS population estimates for mid-2020.

Not all local authorities are lagging behind in the rollout – Hertsmere, Stratford-on-Avon, Harrow and Hart have all given a booster or third dose to more than 65% of their over 50 population.
