Are the Kardashian’s helping Emma Grede build her business empire or is she actually helping them?

Khloé Kardashian has opened her first Good American store at the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles with co-creator Emma Grede. The two ladies first launched their denim brand in 2016 which in turn has become one of the most successful fashion ventures for the Kardashian’s.

Speaking about the opening of the retail store Khloé told Fashionista that she would often visit the mall as a child, so to open her first shop there felt as though she had come ‘full circle.’ The Kardashian star explained: “It's the most nostalgic for us. My family and I, we've been coming here since we’ve been kids.”

Good American is a womenswear clothing brand that features a range of items but is best known for their denim. The company was built with women in mind, body positivity and the inclusivity of all sizes. According to their website Good American items are available from US size 00 up to 32 plus and XS to 5 XL.

Who is Emma Grede?

Emma is a British businesswoman born in London. She studied business at the prestigious London College of Fashion but dropped out after securing an internship with luxury Italian fashion house Gucci. Emma went on to work as a producer on fashion shows, then worked for talent agencies including the Saturday Group and later founded a London-based talent agency. The company was acquired by Rogers & Cowan in 2018 and she left.

The businesswoman met Swedish born entrepreneur Jens Grede whilst working at the Saturday Group. The couple married and now have four children Grey, Lola and twins Lake and Rafferty. They moved to LA in 2017 and live in a historical home in the affluent area of Bel Air.

It was 2015 when Emma approached the matriarch of the Kardashian family, Kris Jenner, with the Good American idea and that she wanted to partner with Khloé. They launched the brand in 2016, initially the company focused on denim items but has since branched out to more including dresses, tops and even swimwear.

Forbes reported that the company made $1 million in sales on the first day it launched. With reports that Good American exceeded £200 million in revenue in 2022.

Emma is also the founding partner of Skims which was co-founded by her husband Jens and Kim Kardashian. The brand was launched in 2019 and the company was recently honoured in The Time's 100 list as the Most Influential Company 2023.

Not only that, Emma also launched Safely, plant based cleaning products along with founding partner 'momager’ Kris Jenner.

With her finger in many successful pies it’s no wonder Emma has earned an estimated net worth of $360 million. With her empire growing and plans for Good American stores worldwide, that figure will only increase even more over the next few years.
