Driverso’s data showed that of the top ranking countries to hire a luxury car with sleek curves and an engine sure to give you an adrenaline rush, the most popular Spanish cities were Barcelona and Marbella, while the top ranking in Italy, home to Bulgari and Barolo, were Venice, Rome, Florence and Milan. The most popular German cities were cultural capital Berlin and home to Oktoberfest, Munich. Interestingly, while the luxury car world has historically been male dominated, Driverso reports an increasing number of female customers using its platform, currently standing at 29% of hires.

In contrast, looking at typical ages, while younger age groups show the highest interest in luxury car rental with 25-34 year olds being the highest users of the Driverso website, the average luxury care rental customers age sits between 45 and 64 years (55% of customers).

A spokesperson from Driverso commented: “Foreign travel is all about trying new things, and this is all the more true for luxury travel. We have a fleet of over 1,500 cars made up of over 200 models and we know that one of main things our rental customers are looking for is the ‘cool factor’ of a vehicle. For some that might mean a sleek, attention-grabbing supercar and for others that might be a state-of-the-art 4X4. We’re seeing more interest than ever in luxury car hire as consumers settle into post-covid travel and look to enjoy the finer things in life. As an Italian head quartered company, we’re delighted to see Italy in the top three locations Brits look to hire luxury vehicles, and we can’t argue with their top picks of the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes Benz G63.”
