What different Christmas markets across the UK look like including London, Sheffield and Nottingham

Over the festive period, Christmas Markets across the UK have been drawing people into town and city centres

Christmas Markets have become a festive staple in the UK in recent decades. The German-style attractions are found in town and city centres across the UK and offer locals the opportunity to enjoy a mulled wine, Bailey's hot chocolate, and other seasonal treats from within the heart of their community.

Some scattered around the nation include those in London's Hyde Park, Nottingham's Old Market Square and Birmingham's Victoria Square. And as well as good, there's fun to be had on Ferris wheels and other amusement rides such as the magical ice kingdom.

And while the prices of what is on offer may have increased compared to recent years, most are open to people to walk through free of charge and go a long way to add some timely Christmas cheer to town and city streets.
